Wood Carvings
A friend once gave me a keychain with my initials carved in wood. She told me it’s just one of the many quick handmade gifts done by a group of individuals for their livelihood. Perhaps that was the time my fascination with wood carvings was born. Up to this day I still continue to collect items made of wood. It comes both in simple and elaborate designs. I can’t help but admire the dedication behind the handiwork to create such superb craftsmanship. I once visited a community that specializes in wood carvings. My eyes were glued to the workers’ hands because they’re so adept and good in making beautiful markings even in a small piece of wood.
