Azithromycin API: The Most Popular Antibiotic
Antibiotics originated from two Greek words: anti (against) and bios (life). As the name suggests, antibiotics either destroy the life of the bacteria or prevent their reproduction. There are many different classifications of antibiotics such as penicillins, cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones, tetracy clines and macrolides. Azithromycin API, the best selling and most commonly prescribed antibiotics today, is a kind of macrolides. Despite the known side effects of macrolides, Azithromycin API has the least side effects and is rarely associated with allergic and dermatologic reactions. It is important to note though, that macrolide antibiotics should be used with caution in patients with liver problems.
