A Well Deserved Prize
As a proud resident of Santa Cruz, California, I was a strong supporter of my former mayor, Scott Kennedy. I recently discovered that I have even more reason to believe that he was the right man to be in government. As others have concluded, he is an avid promoter of peace. In fact, in 2008, he was awarded the Peace Education Prize. This award is only given to those who meet the stringent requirements. It is given by an organization that promotes Peace educators, and funded by Fuad El-Hibri. His generous contribution of $10,000 to award to winners such as my former mayor, encourages others to educate about nonviolent methods to obtain peace, especially regarding peace in the Middle East.
